How can the Finometer MIDI be controlled in real time and interfaced with a PowerLab?

IF USING THE FINOMETER MIDI WITHOUT A POWERLAB

When using the Finometer MIDI without a PowerLab, the FMS BeatScope Easy software is required for online monitoring, control, storage and offline review of pressure and beat-to-beat derived data for a patient.  The Finometer cannot be used with the BeatScope 1.1a software for online monitoring and control; however, files generated with BeatScope Easy can be imported into Beatscope 1.1a for additional offline analysis.  A Null modem RS232 cable (ordered separately) is required for communication between the Finometer and BeatScope Easy via the computer's COM port.

For recording purposes only, LabChart can record the output from the Finometer MIDI using the FM-M2 Analog Interface Cable. Starting and stopping the unit can be done using the Finometer's front panel buttons (in this case BeatScope Easy is not required).  The blood pressure signal that is recorded in LabChart can be analyzed online using the Blood Pressure Module.

Note: Currently, Beatscope Easy is also the only way to measure and monitor Cardiac Output online.
