How to change the limit temperature of the Homeothermic Controller?

The TCAT-2LV from Physitemp, Inc. (also know as the ML295 Homeothermic Controller and Plate) was designed to be used with two temperature sensors. One is built into the warming plate itself, and is set to shut off power to the plate when it reaches 43 °C.  The second sensor is normally inserted into the animal's rectum, and is set to maintain core temperature by using the digital controls on the display panel.  If the second sensor is not attached to the animal, the plate temperature will be maintained at 43 °C, and will continue to cycle on and off to maintain this temperature.

If your subjects are naturally cold and the warming plate is getting too hot for experimental purposes, the document linked HERE describes the procedure to adjust the controller's upper temperature limit.
