How do I determine the Byte Value of a Digital Input within the Preset Comments dialogue?

The Digital Byte option within the Preset Comments dialogue uses the Binary Numerical System, with each of the 8 pins of the Digital Input being assigned a Byte Value. The Digital Byte option needs to be used if more than one of the pins of the Digital Input is being activated simultaneously.

To determine the Byte Value of a given pin configuration, simply sum up the the value of the activated pins in the Byte Value Row to create the required Byte Value:

For example if pins 1, 7 and 8 were activated, the Byte Value would be 128+2+1 = 131:
