How do I get a stable recording from my PTK25 Polar Heart Rate Kit?

The interface cable connects directly to the pod port of a PowerLab or FE305 Pod Expander, and the receiver should be located in clear sight of the subject who will be wearing the transmitter strap.

The transmitter strap should be placed comfortably tight on the subject's torso in direct contact with the skin, lubricating the rear of the transmitter, if necessary, with water. (There is no need for the use of conductive pastes or gels.)

There should be no more than 1.2 meters in distance between the transmitter and receiver.  The closer the transmitter is to the receiver, the stronger and more reproducible the signal will be.

A typical recording will be a series of event spikes to represent the heart beats and the Heart Rate can be derived from these using the 'Cyclic Measurements...' channel calculation which can be found in the Channel Function pop-up menu.
