What are the cleaning and sterilization requirements for the Nasal Temperature Probe?

When cleaning the Nasal Temperature Probe, we recommend wearing non-latex gloves or finger cots and wiping the entire length of the part with a cloth soaked in alcohol or IPA. Then let the part dry for 1 hour at room temperature. Be very careful not to stretch the cable. This style sensor is not designed for multiple cleanings between different patient uses.

For sterilization, E-beam and gamma irradiation do not create any negative effects for the chip thermistors. However, the manufacturer would caution against any sterilization methods like ETO or autoclave that introduce steam, as moisture can impact the thermistor’s resistance measurement.
