What are tags in LabChart Lightning?

LabChart Lightning allows you to tag your recordings with any labels you like. Tags are keywords (such as subject, study date, group, collaborator, etc) that you can attach to regions, annotations, recordings or subjects. This way, you can identify, organize and locate them easily in the future.

You can search for tags throughout a recording or project in the Recordings tab in the lower right sidebar or via the Recordings Picker using metadata. You will see them displayed as a "tag" or a "group" icon.

Adding Tags

There are a number of different ways to add tags in LabChart Lightning:

Regions
Create or select a region. Then, in the Region sidebar on the right side of the screen, left mouse click the Properties button (“...”) to “Edit Region”. The Region Properties will open. There you can enter tags to describe the region.

Annotations

Create or select an annotation. Then in the Annotation sidebar on the right side of the screen, left mouse click the Properties ( “...”) button to “Edit Annotation Metadata”. The Annotation Properties will open. There you can enter tags to describe the annotation.

Recordings

Select a recording. The Chart View Properties will open. There you can enter tags to describe the recording.

Subjects

Within the Chart View Properties, you can also assign Subjects to specific Groups. The Group field acts as a tag because you can search for it later.
