When using the MPVS Ultra for large animal models, you will need to calibrate using Baan's equation which requires a predetermined alpha value and a measurement of the blood resistivity using the Rho Cuvette.
Approximately 0.5ml of blood will be required to fill the well in the Rho Cuvette (hence this is not a suitable calibration method for smaller animals).
