The algorithms used by LabChart's Spirometry Extension and Metabolic Module to calculate respiratory parameters, such as Tidal Volume, require that an exhalation by the subject results in a negative deflection in the flow data. If an exhalation results in a positive deflection in the flow data, simply reverse the flow head's tubing connections on the Spirometer's front panel. The required respiratory parametes will now be calculated correctly for all newly recorded data.
