Why is my SP model PowerLab not recognized by my new computer?

The SP model PowerLab ceased production more than ten years ago, and does not reliably communicate well with the newest USB 3.0 protocols. These poor communications may present themselves in the form of driver errors or problems with LabChart software recognizing the SP hardware unit.
If your SP model PowerLab is not communicating well with your new computer, a powered USB 2.0 hub placed between the computer and the PowerLab may solve the problem and allow the PowerLab to communicate more reliably with the LabChart software.
