In this webinar, Dr. Federico Formenti provides an overview of the OxVent project where a scalable mechanical ventilator was created in order to support the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Abstract:
Dr. Formenti's talk from our 2021 ADInstruments Research Day summarizes the collaboration between engineers, physicians and experts in medical device regulations to design, verify and manufacture a scalable mechanical ventilator to support the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work is a collaboration between King’s College London and the University of Oxford.

Kings College London
Dr Federico Formenti is an integrative physiologist and sports scientist. He works in academia between King’s College London and Oxford, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research interests include human responses to hypoxia, cardiopulmonary and exercise physiology, development of technology for physiological research and critical care, currently funded by the Association of Anaesthetists in the UK and the NIHR.
