Overview

Trusted data acquisition in life science – for over 25 years

PowerLab has been a reliable product for an entire generation of scientists and educators, offering a flexible solution for almost all types of data acquisition. Typical applications include research and teaching across human and animal physiology, pharmacology, neurophysiology, biology, zoology, biochemistry, and biomedical engineering.

PowerLabs are capable of recording at speeds of up to 400,000 samples per second continuously to disk (aggregate), and are compatible with instruments, signal conditioners and transducers supplied by ADInstruments and many other leading brands.

For Research – The 35 Series

Built for the most demanding research applications, all 35 Series PowerLabs are 16-bit, with individual channel ADCs and filters, a maximum per channel sampling rate of 200 kS/s, and noise reduction circuitry to minimize channel crosstalk and signal noise. All 35 Series have 2 analog outputs, a TTL trigger input, 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs.
35 Series PowerLabs come with LabChart data acquisition and analysis software.


PowerLab 16/35

The most powerful ADInstruments DAQ system, with 16 analog input channels, 4 of which can be used in differential mode.


PowerLab 8/35

8 analog input channels – 4 of which can be used in differential mode.


PowerLab 4/35

The entry level 35 series system, with 4 analog input channels that can be used in single-ended or differential modes.

 

For Teaching – The T Series

The ideal DAQ solution for life science classroom experiments. The T Series PowerLab is an economically priced high quality DAQ unit with built-in, fully isolated, two-channel bio amplifier, isolated stimulator, separate non-isolated analog inputs and a differential-mode analog output. T Series PowerLabs come with LabTutor software and a full range of preconfigured Teaching Experiments.


PowerLab 26T (LTS)

Integrated data recording featuring a dual Bio Amp, an isolated stimulator, trigger input, 4 analog inputs, 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs. The 26T includes both LabChart and LabTutor software.


PowerLab 15T (LTS)

Entry level integrated data recording featuring a dual Bio Amp, an isolated stimulator and 2 analog inputs.

 

Cost-effective data acquisition – The 26 Series

Suitable for research and teaching applications, both 26 Series PowerLabs have a TTL trigger input, 8 digital outputs, 8 digital inputs, analog inputs and 2 analog outputs (differential mode only). While cost-effective, the 26 Series have a maximum 100 kS/s sample rate and >95 dB CMRR and are used in a wide range of research applications.
26 Series PowerLabs come with LabChart data acquisition and analysis software.

System Requirements

A PowerLab requires a USB 2 or 3 interface to connect to your computer.

PowerLabs are designed to function with LabChart or LabTutor software for a complete research or teaching solution. In most circumstances, any PC or Mac desktop or laptop computer with a recent Intel or AMD processor and 2 Gb or more of system memory will be sufficient. Please see the system requirements for LabChart and LabTutor for more specific details.
