How Does Student Direct Purchase (SDP) Work?

Student Direct Purchase is available to customers in the United States and provides an easy and cost-effective way for students to access Lt. Here’s how it works:

  1. Students are invited to a course: Students are provided with an email invitation to create a Lt account and access a Lt course.
  2. Unlicensed Grace Period: Students can log in and use Lt to access their course restriction-free for 21 days while setting up their accounts.

  3. Purchase and Activation: Students purchase access to their course via the "Pay Now" button or purchase an access code via the bookstore and enter the code to enable Lt for the duration of their course.

Security and Refunds

Is the process safe? Yes. Lt uses a secure license distribution platform that complies with external data privacy and security regulations.

Refund Policy: Unused codes can be refunded in full. Once a code is used, refunds are not available. We recommend students utilize the 21-day unlicensed access period to ensure they are committed to the course before purchasing.

Log In and Manage Access Codes

First-Time Login

When students accept their invitation and Get Started they are logged in to Lt for the first time. They will be prompted to either Pay Now or Enter Course Access Code before they can access their course. Alternatively they can activate a 21-day unlicensed access period.
Once they have created their Lt account they can sign in via https://accounts.lt.app/user/login

Unlicensed Access Period

During this period, students will see a banner at the top of the screen showing the remaining days of their unlicensed access period. At any time, they can click "Pay Now" or the "Enter Access Code" button to activate their license.

Expiration of the Unlicensed Access Period

When the unlicensed access period ends, students must pay for course access or enter a valid access code to continue using Lt. They won’t be able to access the platform until they purchase a license.

 

Group Logins

For group logins, all students in the group must either:

  • Have a valid license
  • Still be within their unlicensed access period

If they do not have a valid license they will not be able to access the platform.

  • Ensure they have received their Lt invitation email
  • Confirm that their access code is valid and entered correctly
