Yes they can. The only limiting factor is the cage size, as Guinea pig cages are too large to fit on the SmartPad. The telemeter can record away from the SmartPad for ±4 hours (depending on the telemeter).
Then to charge the telemeter, the Guinea pig will need to be in a smaller cage (rat size) so that the telemeter is in the charging field of the SmartPad (±5cm height above the surface of the SmartPad).
