In order to update LabTutor Server from within the Admin interface, you must have desktop access to the machine running LabTutor Server - the update button will not be shown if you are remote accessing the Server from a different machine (for example by typing the IP address into your URL bar in Internet Explorer). There are two ways of getting desktop access:
- Physically go and log on to the machine that has LabTutor Server installed on it
- Use a desktop sharing application (such as Citrix or Remote Desktop Connection) to gain remote access
You can then update by:
- Log in to the Server Admin Pages
- Go to 'Server', then 'Status'
- Click 'Update'
Desktop sharing is also the only way for a virtual Server to be updated in this manner, as virtual machines don't have a physical location to log in to.
