Which Vernier Go Direct® Sensors can sample data in Lt?

Lt lessons in the Biology and Chemistry Collections include data sampling panels that are compatible with Vernier Go Direct® Sensors. Data sampling is supported from the following 10 Vernier Go Direct® Sensors (listed below):

Biology Collection

  1. Go Direct Conductivity Probe (GDX-CON)
  2. Go Direct pH Sensor (GDX-EA)
  3. Go Direct Temperature Probe (GDX-TMP)
  4. Go Direct CO2 Gas Sensor (GDX-CO2)
  5. Go Direct O2 Gas Sensor (GDX-O2)
  6. Go Direct Optical Dissolved Oxygen Sensor (GDX-ODO)
  7. Go Direct Gas Pressure Sensor (GDX-GP)
  8. Go Direct SpectroVis Plus Spectrophotometer (GDX-SVISPL)
Chemistry Collection
  1. Go Direct pH Sensor (GDX-EA)
  2. Go Direct Conductivity Probe (GDX-CON)
  3. Go Direct Temperature Probe (GDX-TMP)
  4. Go Direct Gas Pressure Sensor (GDX-GP)
  5. Go Direct Voltage Probe (GDX-VOLT)
  6. Go Direct SpectroVis Plus Spectrophotometer (GDX-SVISPL)
  7. Go Direct Melt Station (GDX-MLT)

Any firmware version of the GDX-prefixed sensors listed above should be compatible with the kuraCloud Desktop Application in Lt. If for whatever reason they do not appear to be compatible, you can update the firmware via Vernier’s software, Graphical Analysis (GA) (read more here). After updating, GA must be closed and the kCDA must be restarted from the kCDA tray icon prior to sampling again in Lt. Only one software application can grab ‘ahold' of a single USB connection, either GA or Lt’s kCDA, so this restart will initiate kCDA to start automatically scanning and connecting to Go Direct® sensors again (read more here).

The data sampling panels in Lt lessons in the Chemistry and Biology Collections, as well as the settings library, will only include settings for these particular GDX-prefixed sensors. There is no authoring capability in LabChart for Vernier Go Direct® Sensor settings files so educators cannot record new example data, create new settings files or author existing files. Lt only supports the existing settings files that we have in the released content and/or content library. Customers can request additional settings files or sensor recording configurations.

To read more about these collections, as well as understand which Vernier Go Direct® Sensor corresponds to a particular lesson in Lt, you can navigate to the Biology Collection page or Chemistry Collection page on the ADInstruments website.
