As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of ADInstruments, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey – our past and present staff around the world, our distributors and partners, and, most importantly, our customers.
Forty years ago, Tony, Boris, Graham and I believed that an easy-to-use, powerful data acquisition system built around the first Apple Macintosh could help physiologists focus on their science instead of getting lost in the technical details. Building a successful business is about solving real-world problems, and we knew that most physiologists wanted to spend their time doing research, not building hardware or writing software.
That simple idea has guided us ever since. Today we describe it as "Making Science Easier," but the goal has remained the same from the very beginning: to create products that let researchers and educators concentrate on what they do best while we take care of the technology.
From day one, our focus has been on building the right capabilities, refining the features that matter most, and helping our users get the very best from our products. Everything we have created has been shaped by listening to our customers, and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
Technology has changed enormously over the past four decades, but our enthusiasm for innovation hasn't. We continue to apply the latest technologies and software tools to create even better solutions for our users.
None of this would have been possible without the amazing people who have contributed across every part of the business – from product development to manufacturing, marketing, sales and support. Your dedication, creativity and commitment have made ADInstruments what it is today.
One of the things I love most about ADInstruments is how international we are. Our customers are doing extraordinary work in laboratories and classrooms all around the world, and we are proud to have offices and distributors in so many countries to support them. I know everyone at ADInstruments values the opportunity to work with and learn from our customers wherever they are.
Finally, I want to thank all of our customers. We know how hard you work to secure funding for research and education, and we never take for granted the trust you place in us. It is a privilege to play a small part in the discoveries and learning that our products help make possible.
Our 40th anniversary has been a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how far we have come. I am excited about what lies ahead, and I look forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary—and many more beyond—with all of you.
