TReND-ADInstruments travel scholarships to CrawFly now open!

Applications for scholarships to attend the CrawFly Invertebrate Neurobiology course for Educators at Cornell University in June are open now. This time ADInstruments is working with TReND (Teaching and Research in Neuroscience for Development in Africa) to provide extra travel assistance to a scientist from an African university to attend this inspirational and practical course.

We're so happy to be able to support TReND as they aim to promote real, sustainable development in Africa through investment in higher education and scientific innovation. Here's what they say:

“Scientific education is pivotal to the ability of societies to innovate, move forward and integrate within the global society. To date, most developing nations need to import their solutions, innovations and patents from abroad, while losing their most capable minds to Western universities. Therefore we believe that providing top-level education to local elites in their home country is key to enabling developing societies to take their futures into their own hands.”

By attending CrawFly, educators can take home cutting-edge techniques for teaching laboratory sessions in invertebrate neurobiology using well-studied model organisms like the Drosophila fruit fly and, we hope, really inspire their students towards a career in neuroscience!
