Workshop - Transforming student engagement: Successful blended learning in veterinary teaching 

In addition to exhibiting, on the 2nd of July we'll be hosting a workshop on the role of blended learning in veterinary education. 

This workshop will feature presentations from leading Australian academics Dr. Christina Marth (University of Melbourne), Dr. Anita Helman and Dr. Haseeb Anwar from Charles Sturt University. Join us as they share insights into blended learning, student engagement and practical experience in veterinary teaching practices.

Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Biosciences
Melbourne Veterinary School
The University of Melbourne

Dr. Christina Marth is a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Biosciences at the University of Melbourne. Christina completed a PhD exploring how innate immune factors influence the way horses respond to breeding and the ability of healthy horses to clear all traces of inflammation from their uterus efficiently. She loves to use this knowledge about the finely tuned balances in the body to teach students about the fascinating world of physiology and to link the intricate details visible on a histological level to these physiological functions.

Dr. Anita Helman

Dr. Anita Helman graduated from the Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary science program with honours at CSU in 2019. After 4.5 years in clinical mixed practice Anita returned to CSU in 2024 as a lecturer in veterinary anatomy and physiology. Anita has a particular interest in learning and teaching theory and implementing strategies for quality teaching in the tertiary setting.

Dr. Haseeb Anwar
Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology

Dr. Haseeb Anwar is a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology at Charles Sturt University. He graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2001 and served as a Veterinary Officer in Pakistan’s Livestock and Dairy Development Department for several years. After completing his PhD in Veterinary Physiology in 2011, he transitioned to academia. Before joining CSU in 2025, In GC University, Pakistan, He played a key role in curriculum development, subject coordination, and student supervision, mentoring over 40 master’s and 11 PhD students.
