Can I use the Bio-amp in a Teaching Powerlab to record Electrooculography (EOG) signals?

The in-built bio amplifier in the  PowerLab 15T and 26T consists of an electrically isolated, AC-coupled, differential amplifier, whereas the Electrooculogram (EOG) is a DC signal. Therefore, to monitor eye movement accurately, especially to record the stationary intervals when the eyes are fixated on a point, the amplifier must be DC-coupled.

We recommend using an EOG Pod,  a DC-coupled biopotential amplifier specifically designed for this application.

Note: This is only applicable to teaching systems. For EOG research, we recommend the research-grade Bio-Amp, which has a DC mode.
