How do I calculate Cardiac Output from my Transonics perivascular flow data?

To calculate Cardiac Output (CO) from the flow signal measured by a Transonic flow probe (typically on the Aorta), you can integrate the flow signal to give stroke volume, derive the height of this signal, and multiply by heart rate, Using LabChart 8 this is done in a series of channel calculations. Using LabChart Lightning, the steps can be combined in a custom calculation.

An example LabChart file can be found here and the channels are as follows:

Channel 1: Heart Rate

Channel 2: Raw Flow Signal

Channel 3: Integral of Flow Signal (using Integral calculation)

Channel 4: Conversion of Vol/min/s to Vol/min (using arithmetic)

Channel 5: Height Calculation to derive Stroke Volume (using Cyclic measurements)

Channel 6: SV x HR (using arithmetic)
