In this demonstration video Mark de Reus, Head of Training and Support at ADInstruments, shows you how to set up the MPVS Duo Hardware.
Step 1: LabChart Preparation
- Ensure that you have installed LabChart and the PV Loop 2.6 Module.
Step 2: Connecting the PowerLab C
- Connect the C Series PowerLab and Instrument Interface to the PC. For more information on how to do this, watch the PowerLab C set up video.
Step 3a: Connecting Channels for Admittance Mode
- Using the BNC cables, connect the following outputs from the MPVS Duo to the following inputs on the Instrument Interface:
- Pressure to Input 1
- Volume to Input 2
- Phase to Input 3
- Magnitude to Input 4
- Connect your catheter to the MPVS Duo by inserting one side of the micro HDMI cable into the ‘catheter’ input on the MPVS Duo and the other into the catheter.
- Plug the power supply into the MPVS Duo and then into the wall outlet.
- Remember: Soak your catheter for at least half an hour before use.
Step 3b: Connecting Channels for Conductance Mode
- Using the BNC cables, connect the following outputs from the MPVS Duo to the following inputs on the Instrument Interface:
- Pressure to Input 1
- Magnitude to Input 2
- Phase to Input 3
- Connect your catheter to the MPVS Duo by inserting one side of the micro HDMI cable into the ‘catheter’ input on the MPVS Duo and the other into the catheter.
- Plug the power supply into the MPVS Duo and then into the wall outlet.
- Remember: Soak your catheter for at least half an hour before use.
Step 4: Recording Data
- The system is now ready to record PV data. Please see our other videos for more information on setting up the MPVS Duo and LabChart for recording.
