Millar Mikro-Tip® solid state catheters with pressure sensor(s) provide high-fidelity cardiovascular pressures (the heart and vascular system) at the source in small animals. These catheters are ideal for intrauterine, intracranial and arterial blood pressure monitoring, amongst other research applications.
Millar Mikro-Tip® solid state pressure catheters provide an ideal solution for measuring highly accurate pressures. Whether measuring arterial and ventricular blood pressures, spinal pressures, tumor pressures or airway pressures, a high-fidelity sensor from Millar is a necessity for your research.

Catheters require Catheter Interface Cables for connection to any ADInstruments bridge amplifier. Record and analyze blood pressure data quickly and easily using the Blood Pressure Module that is included with LabChart Pro software. A Pressure Gauge kit that provides the necessary items to calibrate the Mikro-Tip® pressure transducer is available. Additionally, the purchase of an ESD Adjustable Wrist Strap w/ 10’ Coil Cord (Blue, 4mm Snap) is highly recommended to protect these catheters from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage during handling.
Cost-effective Millar Mikro-Tip solid state catheters can be reused for multiple experiments. Our best selling catheters include SPR-320 for rats, SPR-671 for mice and the smallest sensor tip pressure catheter in the world, the SPR-1000, also for mice.

Millar Mikro-Tip Catheters require a certain level of care to ensure accuracy and the anticipated lifespan of your catheters. Tergazyme (Alconox, Inc.) is required for cleaning and ensuring the removal of proteinaceous soils, tissue, blood and body fluids from the catheter. Millar have recently simplified their range so that all pressure catheters now work with the Low Profile pressure connector cable, rather than the Viking cable.

3.5 F, single pressure sensor mounted at the tip, effective length 100 cm. Straight, flexible body for the measurement of pressure in rabbits and other small animals.
5 F, single pressure sensor mounted at the tip, effective length 120 cm, used for a femoral or carotid approach. The curved tip can aid placement over the aortic arch and across the aortic valve in large animals (dog/pig/sheep).
5 F, single pressure sensor mounted at the tip, effective length 70 cm. Straight, flexible body for the measurement of pressure in large animals (dog/pig/sheep).
5 F, dual pressure sensor with the first mounted at the tip and the second 3 cm from the tip, effective length 120 cm. Curved tip can aid placement when measuring LV and aortic pressures in large animals (dog/pig/sheep).
