Why isn't LabChart launching after installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update?

Following installation of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update users may receive the below error message when launching LabChart. With this update some older (deprecated) Windows functionality used by LabChart has been removed from the Operating System.

Solution

LabChart 7 and 8 users can update to the most recent version by visiting the ADInstruments software download portal at http://www.adinstruments.com/support/software

Users of earlier versions of LabChart should follow these steps:

1)Download ext-ms-win-gdi-desktop-l1-1-0.dll from https://adi.to/windll

2)Place this file in your LabChart folder, most commonly found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\ADInstruments\LabChart6

3)Launch LabChart
