Radnoti 1585 Series Tissue Bath with Built In Electrodes
Overview
The Radnoti 1585 Series Tissue Organ Baths are designed to accommodate the requirement of very small bath volumes, which may be due to working with very small tissue samples or the need to lessen the required amount of expensive drugs. However, the reduced tissue bath capacity does not allow space for external stimulating electrodes. Therefore, built into the bath are two opposing platinum electrodes (either Zig Zag or Straight) for stimulation of the small tissue preparation. They connect to leads that exit the side of the bath and be connected to an external stimulator (purchased separately). Their other features include:
- A water jacket outer compartment that uses Radnoti Quick Disconnect fittings to ensure leak-resistant water jacket connections, while providing easy attachment or detachment
- A Luer overflow port that prevents overflow in protocols that require the constant addition of solution via a pump or reservoir, and permits solution sampling for analysis
- Has a bottom Luer drain port that can be fitted with a 1-Way Tap to permit rapid flushing
- Allows complete removal of bath solution, which permits both effective tissue washing and complete collection of endogenously released substances
- Has an Oxygenating Tube with Teflon Needle Valve (TNV)
- Can be fully removed for easy cleaning and replacement
- Has a sintered glass disc sealed at the end of the oxygenating tube, which provides superior gas delivery
- Needle valve allows fine adjustments, which provides accurate and controlled gas dispersion into the bath
- Works either a corresponding sized Radnoti Glass Tissue Hook or a Radnoti Tissue Ring Support.
For both designs (either with Zig Zag or Straight platinum electrodes), a range of 2, 5 and 10 mL bath volumes are available. A glass rod is attached to 2 mL baths, which allows direct attachment to Radnoti Lab Stands via a Radnoti Universal Stand Clamp (Nylon). Otherwise, similar to larger bath volumes, 5 and 10 mL baths attach to Radnoti Lab Stands via Single Ring Clamps and Universal Stand Clamps.
Note: The actual volumes are greater than stated volumes to allow for displacement of supports, accessories and samples. Additionally, if ordering the bath individually, components, such as Radnoti Quick Disconnect tubing and fittings will be required and are purchased separately.

A 2 mL Radnoti 1585 Series Hi-Tech Tissue Organ Bath with dimensions of 25 mm OD, 11 mm ID, 35 mm Depth, and 45 mm Overall Average Height. It has two opposing Zig Zag platinum electrodes that are built into the chamber for stimulation of the small tissue preparation. It is supplied with an Oxygenating Tube with Teflon Needle Valve and a 1-Way Tap.
Radnoti Tissue Organ Bath w/ Zig-Zag Electrode (5 mL)
A 5 mL Radnoti 1585 Series Hi-Tech Tissue Organ Bath with dimensions of 32 mm OD, 15 mm ID, 45 mm Depth, and 55 mm Overall Average Height. It has two opposing Zig Zag platinum electrodes that are built into the chamber for stimulation of the small tissue preparation. It is supplied with an Oxygenating Tube with Teflon Needle Valve and a 1-Way Tap.
Radnoti Tissue Organ Bath w/ Zig Zag Electrode (10 mL)
A 10 mL Radnoti 1585 Series Hi-Tech Tissue Organ Bath with dimensions of 45 mm OD, 22 mm ID, 60 mm Depth, and 70 mm Overall Average Height. It has two opposing Zig Zag platinum electrodes that are built into the chamber for stimulation of the small tissue preparation. It is supplied with an Oxygenating Tube with Teflon Needle Valve and a 1-Way Tap.
