Overview

Tri Shaped Tissue Supports
 

The Radnoti Tissue Ring Supports provides a rapid easy to use solution for studying high throughput tissue ring samples, especially when multiple samples must be run on a daily basis, such as aortic ring studies. They are designed specifically for tissue ring samples such as aortic, intestinal, vascular or tissue ring segments that need to be set up for an isometric contractile force measurement.

The design consists of a combination of a lower L-shaped support and an upper triangular-shaped support. The L-shaped support is available as borosilicate glass or stainless steel, terminating with or without a glass locking hook. Its attaching wire allows for a sample ring to easily slide through, which is then locked into place to the glass locking hook (depending on model). The wire can be stainless steel or tungsten depending on the required diameter and length. A dual sample configuration is also available for experimentation that calls for the two samples to be in the same chamber.

The upper triangular-shaped support is available as stainless steel or tungsten depending on the required diameter and length. They are manufactured in two styles, which are the standard close (increases attachment security) and open-ended (provide easier attachment and detachment).  Its lower section is used to attach the sample by sliding through the sample ring. The top loop is used to connect to an isometric force transducer (purchased separately) via appropriate suture or wire.

Firstly tapers horizontally from a 6 mm OD for 110 mm, then tapers vertically 45 mm down from 3 mm to 2 mm OD, and then terminates in a ‘hook’ design, which continues to tapers horizontally for 10 mm, and then tapers vertically up for 6 mm, which the end locks its 7 mm long 0.015" stainless steel wire.
