It is not advisable to change the transmission frequency of a mouse telemeter once it has been implanted due to the risk of the telemeter losing power if the mouse was to move outside the wireless power field of the tBase during the frequency change process. This could result in an incomplete frequency change and corruption of the telemeter firmware.
For this reason it is preferable to set up the desired transmission frequencies of telemeters and tBases BEFORE implantation.
If a situation arises where it is necessary to change the transmission frequency of the telemeter we advise the mouse is either restrained or anaesthetised during the process to avoid power loss to the telemeter.
