What is the compression for the display in the Chart window?

With regards to having the sampling rate the same as a mechanical chart recorder: Divisions in the Chart window are 20 pixels wide and are displayed in a graticule as lines or dots that are aligned to the time axis. The time per division, or the time that it takes each graticule to scroll past depends on the sampling rate and the horizontal scale in the View buttons. The compression in the View buttons indicates the number of samples per pixel, so a compression of 20:1 indicates 20 samples per pixel and in this case there are 400 samples per division. Sampling at 20 samples per second would mean that each division contains 20s of data.
