Often, when LabChart and the Video Capture Module encounter this type of error, it is because the video device is being utilized by another software.
Many DirectShow compatible video cameras and capture cards come with their own Video Capture software. If this software is opened with LabChart, the Video Capture Module may still recognize the video feed in the Live Preview window. However, video recording will fail when LabChart starts sampling as the device's drivers are being utilized by a secondary software. To resolve this issue, you should attempt to close, disable, or uninstall the third-party video capture software.
