Abstract:

In this session, Karlee will discuss the process of how she developed a vertically-integrated pharmacology curriculum for the medical program, and how the use of online resources forms the foundation of this program. Karlee will demonstrate how she has used innovative strategies to optimise student learning and engagement. This session will be interactive with the opportunity for participants to share their own experiences, wins and challenges with both pharmacology and online learning.

Karlee is a senior lecturer in pharmacology who is responsible for the design and delivery of an innovative and comprehensive pharmacology teaching program in the ANU school of Medicine and psychology. Karlee was recently awarded the 2023 Vice Chancellor's award for Teaching Excellence, and has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards at the School and College level. She is a consultant Critical Care Pharmacist with more than 15 years experience in clinical practice, which she uses to provide Medical students with the knowledge and skills to be safe and effective prescribers.
