kuraCloud Desktop Application v1.14.3

  • Fixes an issue introduced in version 1.14.1.
  • Fixed issue where previously Scope and Chart sampled data is not visible when reopening the lesson.
  • Resolved issue with KCDA interaction affecting KLE headers.
  • NOTE: This is a non breaking update. KCDA will continue to function as normal if not updated to this version.

🐛 Bug Fixes

Data & Scope Panel Improvements

  • Accurate Value Readouts: Fixed an issue where data selections displayed inconsistent values at different zoom levels. All data selection and marker values are now calculated using uncompressed data for improved accuracy.
  • Faster Zooming: Zoomed-in data is now calculated locally, making zooming past compression level 1 much faster.
  • Panel Loading Issues: Resolved a problem where sections in the data panel would sometimes appear blank until the page was reloaded.
  • Increased Data Selection Limit: The data selection limit for sampling panels has been raised, allowing for larger data selections.

Interface Fixes

  • Course Sidebar Navigation: Fixed an issue where the course sidebar wouldn’t scroll to the currently selected course when reopened.
  • Group Lesson Display: Added a group lesson icon and tooltip to the end of group lesson names in the Lt Library.

✨ UX Improvements

  • Grade Button Enhancement: Improved the user experience for the "Grade" button to make grading smoother and more intuitive.

🌈 Customer-Facing Improvements

  • New Fill-in-the-Blanks Panel
    Released a brand new panel that supports fill-in-the-blank interactions, giving authors more flexibility in content creation.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Data Panels – Region Selection
    Improved the accuracy of min/max calculations in region selections. Previously, mean values were incorrectly used when data was zoomed out.
  • Label Display Issues
    Fixed an issue where labels could overlap in the Image Labelling and Drag & Drop panels.
  • Stimulator Panel Enhancements
    • Users can now type a custom value; the stimulator will round to the nearest valid option.
    • Added real-time warning messaging for invalid input while typing.

✨ UX Improvements

  • People View
    General UX improvements and minor bug fixes for a smoother experience.
  • Student Grid
    Fixed a bug where popups displayed unnecessary scrollbars and hidden buttons.
  • Lessons & Modules
    • Fixed a bug preventing modules from expanding after clicking the lesson’s Update button.
    • Resolved an issue where redundant revisions appeared when opening lessons as an author.
    • Module Last Modified dates now correctly update when a lesson is edited.
  • Sidebar Display
    Fixed a bug where resizing the browser could cause the sidebar to disappear.
  • Staff Invites
    Staff invitations can now be resent to active staff members.
  • Course Content Modal
    Minor UX improvements for the “Add content to course” modal on small screens.
  • Archived Courses
    Fixed an issue where signup status text could appear inaccurate.

🌍 Customer-Facing Improvements

Lessons View

  • Added "Module" label with lesson count and improved hover display.

  • The “Add Lessons” button now changes to “Edit Module” when the module contains content.

  • Navigation Enhancements

    • Retain module open/closed state in the Lessons view.

    • Preserve scroll position and highlight current lesson when returning from the authoring environment.

    • Lessons can now be opened in a new tab using right-click or middle-click on the title.

Performance

  • Improved loading speed and performance of the Lessons view.

  • Resolved database deadlocks during complex module updates.

  • Prevented timeouts when copying large modules.

Authoring

  • Fixed extra revisions appearing when creating a new lesson.

  • Fixed issue preventing updates to images with alt text in the authoring editor.

Grading

  • Fixed slowness when switching between students on lessons with large table questions.

  • Eliminated UI “jumping” while switching between grading questions.

Panels & Annotation

  • Fixed:

    • Small image issue on entry to Annotation panels.

    • Table questions now properly respect read-only mode.

    • Esc key causing blank screen in Annotation mode.

    • Inaccurate mouse position while resizing spreadsheet panels.

    • Grid misalignment during drag-and-drop with label boxes.

    • Scope panels counting deleted records toward record limits.

 Accessibility

  • Resolved color contrast accessibility issue in the instance dropdown (Firefox).

  • Reduced grading environment load time.

    Lessons and modules have been unified into a single, streamlined view to improve navigation and reduce time to task.

  • New Sorting Options
    Added Type and Schedule Status as sort options in the Lessons view.

  • Expand/Collapse All Modules
    Introduced a new button to quickly expand or collapse all modules in the Lessons view.

  • Search Term Highlighting
    Search results now highlight matches in module and lesson titles, keywords, and descriptions.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug preventing students from starting lessons when shared via group invite.

  • Resolved regressions in sorting for courses and course groups in the sidebar; now using natural sort order.

  • Lessons and modules are now sorted using natural order in the Lessons view, defaulting to sort-by-title. Sort preference is now saved.

  • Fixed issue where users who changed roles (e.g. from course admin to student) saw duplicated lessons.

  • Resolved an error in the Lessons view caused by deleted users in revision details.

🌍 UX Improvements

Course Sidebar Enhancements

  • Course group open/closed state is now remembered between sessions.

  • The course group for the logged-in user is prioritized in the display.

  • Search has been elevated for better visibility and now works across all course states.

  • Added an indicator for hidden search results when course groups are collapsed.

  • Instances are now sorted in the instance switcher.

  • General design improvements for better clarity and usability.

LTI Improvements

  • Archived courses can now be accessed via LTI if the user still has access.

  • Direct links to lessons and courses have been added to the LTI Integration page for easier navigation.
