kuraCloud Desktop Application v1.13.7

• Improved reliability of KCDA startup when the network is unavailable at launch.
• Fixed KCDA data service and controller failing to launch after 5 minutes of connection issues.
• Resolved the confusing state where the KCDA tray icon was visible, but restarting KCDA via the tray would fail.
• Fixed behavior where Lt would act as if KCDA was not installed.

🌈 New Features

1. New People View and Settings Modal:

• Introduced a redesigned People View and Settings Modal, replacing the existing Students, Staff, and Settings cards for improved usability and clarity.

2. Group Sharing Workflow Enhancements:

• Users can now share work even after lessons have been committed, enhancing flexibility in group workflows.
• Added analytics to track usage patterns and identify use cases for Group Sharing.
• Enhanced logging for greater insight into shared work versions.
• Updated Group Sharing dialogs to provide clear, actionable guidance for users.

🐛 Bug Fixes and Improvements

1. Sampling Panel Enhancements:

• kuraCloud Desktop now automatically reloads when the user clicks "Start" if required devices are not detected. This reduces reliance on the "Reset Hardware" workflow and resolves cases where kuraCloud Desktop (kcda) could malfunction if devices were connected after starting.

2. Stimulator Panel Improvements:

• Enhanced Usability: Controls now support arrow keys for adjusting parameter values.
• Parameter Persistence: Stimulator parameters are re-applied on page load or after restarting kuraCloud Desktop.
• Reload Functionality: The "Reset" button is now a "Reload" button, allowing users to reload kcda and stimulator configurations directly from the panel.
• Bug Fixes:
  • Resolved an issue where stimulator controls wouldn’t appear if the PowerLab was connected after kuraCloud Desktop started.
  • Addressed cases where the panel could be blank or fail to update, avoiding misleading messages during sampling panel loading.
• Background Sampling: Controls are now disabled during background sampling.

3. Content Library Search and Filtering:

• Removed the "Distance Learning" filter option.
• Fixed issues with filtering using the "Lt Sensors" option.
• Added a "Preview" button for lessons included in modules.

4. Transcript Viewer:

• Fixed a bug where video transcripts were duplicated in the transcript viewer.

🌈 Feature Updates

1. Lt Sampling for sensors on macOS and Windows:
   • Customers can now enable Lt Sampling at the course level in the SETTINGS modal
   • Future Plans: The Lt Sampling checkbox will eventually be removed, making Lt Sampling the default sampling engine for Lt Sensors.
2. Terms of Service Update:
   • Updated Terms of Service for Puerto Rican users to display the U.S. Terms of Service.
3. Instance Administration Dashboard:
   • Introduced a new "People View" feature for the instance administration dashboard.

🐛 Bug Fixes

1. Stimulator Controls Fix:
   • Resolved an issue where stimulator controls failed to appear when switching from example data to "record my data."
   • Known Behavior: Stimulator may still appear blank on initial page load if example data is enabled by default. Controls will display correctly after switching to "record my data." A follow-up release is planned to address this.
2. Time Display in Value Panels:
   • Fixed a bug causing time to not display in value panels for some committed student lessons.

🌈 Customer-Facing Releases

Enhancements:

• Lesson Timing in Exports: Added "Lesson Start Time" and "Lesson Commit Time" to the Student Answers CSV export for more detailed insights.
• LTI Setup Guide: Updated the LTI Setup Guide link within the Admin Cards for easier access.

Sampling Panel Updates:

• Default Settings:
  • Data Sampling Panel: Now defaults to the Pulse settings file (single-channel Lt Finger Pulse Sensor).
  • Scope Sampling Panel: Defaults to Reaction Time settings (Lt Tendon Hammer and Lt Finger Pulse sensors).
• Channel Value Readouts: Improved readouts when using selectors and markers in sampling panels.

Admin Improvements:

• Time zone Banner: A banner has been added to indicate if staff are in a different time zone than the instance in the following views:
  • Schedule
  • Course Progress
  • Student Pays*: Review and Activate workflow   
    • *Student Pays licensing is only available to customers in North America

Course Progress Updates:

• Time zone Display: Student grid now displays dates and times in the instance’s time zone.
• New Post-Commit Indicator: A BLUE dot now indicates students who haven't started a lesson but the lesson has been committed.
• Student View: Students will now see a time zone abbreviation after due dates if they are in a different time zone than the instance.

Analytics:

• Student Activity Tracking: Added a new section in the Instance Analytics page to display and export hours spent in lessons.

🐛Bug Fixes

Fixes:

• Multifactor Authentication (MFA): Fixed an issue where the recovery code screen appeared when auto-submitted by password managers.
• Zeroing Behavior: Improved the Zeroing behavior for KuraCloud Desktop and Lt Sensors Spirometer.
• Data Sampling Panels: Fixed a bug where vertical scaling wasn’t being saved in data sampling panels.
• Lt Sensor Settings: Updated the "Flow, Pressure, and Volume" Lt Sensor settings file—drift correction is now switched off.
