What is the grace period?
A ‘grace period’, is the 21 day period of Lt access upon first login before you are required to enter an access code. Grace periods and access codes only apply to institues that have students pay for their own access to Lt. If your institute is covering the cost for your access to Lt, no access codes are required.
How long is the grace period? The maximum grace period available is 21 days. You can enter an access code anytime within this 21 day period.
Why do I want to utilise the grace period? A grace period gives you flexibility if your circumstances change, such as a change in schedule or you drop the course that uses Lt. A grace period also allows you to access your course content if you’ve not yet managed to purchase an access code.
What do I do when my grace period runs out? If you have purchased an Lt access code, please enter it when prompted on your Lt homepage. If not, please first purchase an Lt access code and then enter the code into the corresponding prompt on your Lt homepage. For more information about how to purchase an Lt access code, please refer to your syllabus, other course materials or contact your course instructor directly.
When does the grace period start? The grace period starts when you have accepted your Lt course invite, log on to Lt and select ‘Enter Code Later’ when prompted for your Lt access code.
How do I know my grace period is about to expire? The remaining time of a grace period is displayed within your course dashboard in Lt, as seen below.
I have a different question about grace periods, who do I contact? For further technical assistance with this or any other issue, please contact ADInstruments Technical Support here. Please provide as much of the following as possible.
