Safely record everything from a simple 3 lead ECG up to a full 12 lead ECG using our system.
Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG) studies the heart's electrical activity, usually recorded by electrodes on the skin. ECG signals are recorded to examine heart rate, heart rate variability, analysis of the waveform morphology, and other similar functions.
We offer a range of Bio Amps for recording ECG signals that are tested and certified for use in human subjects.
Our Bio Amps interface seamlessly with PowerLab and LabChart forming a streamlined ECG acquisition and analysis system.
In conjunction with our solutions below, any device with an analog output (+/- 10V) can be connected to a PowerLab data acquisition system for synchronization in LabChart, giving you more flexibility and the ability to integrate all your data streams in one place.
All of our hardware recommended for human use is backed by the appropriate safety certification standards. More information on safety standards.

LabChart software is designed specifically for life science data and provides up to 32 channels for data display and analysis options that are powerful and easy to use. With auto-recognition of ADI and LabChart Compatible hardware, multi-window views, one touch recording, simultaneous recording from multiple devices, specialized preconfigured settings, easy sharing options and an interface that can be customized to show only the features you want to use.
To reduce noise in your ECG recording, avoid placing electrodes over large muscle groups e.g. Biceps, where possible.
ADInstruments Bio Amps also provide flexible settings (range, filters) which allow you to detect small changes in ECG that may not be detected in clinical ECG machines. The same Bio Amp can then also be used to record other biopotentials such as EEG, EMG and EOG.
