The Hotspot panel allows you to create an interactive image experience by adding labelled regions and points of interest. It is commonly used for virtual microscopy or highlighting structures within an image.
To add a Hotspot panel, select Panels from the footer, then choose Basic from the Panels menu. Drag and drop the Hotspot panel onto your lesson page.

Adding an image
To add an image, drag and drop it directly onto the panel, or select Edit, then Add Image.

Adding regions and pins
Once an image is added, you can highlight areas using Regions and Pins
.
Regions can be created by drawing a freeform shape or by dragging a rectangle over an area. Pins can be placed on specific points within the image.
After creating a region or pin, you can add a name and description, change its colour, add a zoomed layer, or delete it using the available options
.
Adding layers
Layers allow you to display additional images linked to a region or pin, creating a zoom effect. For example, you can show a higher magnification view of a selected area.
To add a layer, select the layer icon when editing a region or pin, then upload the new image.

You can continue adding regions and additional layers within each level.
Navigating between layers
To return to a previous layer, select the back arrow
.
To move forward and continue editing deeper layers, use the same control used to add layers.
