Flexible Balloon Catheters
Used with latex balloons for measuring left ventricular pressure in the isolated rat heart preparation.
Overview
Balloon catheters designed to be used with a compatible pressure transducer and a correspondingly sized latex balloon to measure left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP) in isolated rodent heart preparations. Each is made of a single flexible Teflon tubing that has one end tapered to a flanged tip, which allows the secure attachment of the balloon. Its other end is attached to male Luer connector via several fittings, which allow interfacing to the pressure transducer via appropriate Luer taps.
