Working heart systems allow you to simultaneously monitor mechanical and electrical cardiac parameters, to examine the influence of preload and afterload on cardiac work during perfusion.

Advance your cardiac investigation with ADInstruments Working Heart and Working Heart Ultimate Systems. All systems include high quality and modular Radnoti glassware, PowerLab data acquisition hardware, LabChart Pro Analysis software and high-quality components for measuring cardiac parameters.
Add in specific amplifiers, transducers and electrodes to record atrial and aortic pressures as well as ECG or take your investigations to the next level with components such as pH and micro-oxygen probes, transonic flow meters and Millar pressure catheters, which facilitate additional cardiac parameters and oxygen consumption measurements, as well as the option to pace the heart.
In conjunction with our complete systems shown below, any device with an analog output (+/- 10V) can be connected to a PowerLab data acquisition system for synchronization of event in LabChart. So you have even more flexibility and can integrate all your data streams in one place.

Isolated Heart Pressure Kits are hardware add-ons for Langendorff and Working Heart Foundation Systems. Each kit allows the measurement of pressure for a specific application.
Isolated heart kits that allow surface cardiac action potential ("ECG") measurements from an isolated perfused rodent heart in Langendorff and Working Heart systems.
The Isolated Heart Pacing Kit is an add-on that allows surface pacing/stimulating of an isolated rodent heart in the Langendorff and Working Heart foundation systems.
A perfusion kit that is designed to measure pH and temperature in any appropriate and meaningful location of an isolated perfusion circuit such as the Langendorff and Working Heart systems.
The Mikro-Tip BP Foundation System is configured for measuring blood pressure in small through to large animals and provides compatibility with a wide range of Mikro-Tip pressure catheters.
The Millar MPVS Ultra Foundation Systems are configured for measurement of ventricular pressure and volume in small through to large animal hearts, using an appropriate Millar PV catheter.
Isolated Working Heart Systems provide all the glassware for perfusing small animal hearts, and the acquisition hardware and software for working heart data collection and analysis, including pressure, biopotentials and temperature.
The PowerLab C Rodent Langendorff Foundation System is designed to perfuse an isolated mouse or rat heart, either in constant perfusion pressure or constant perfusion flow. Included is the high-quality, modular, yet compact ADInstruments Rodent Langendorff Apparatus, which provides flexibility for configuring various isolated heart experimental solutions. Additionally, the system is also supplied with LabChart Lightning software, flexible PowerLab C data acquisition, and hardware for measuring perfusion pressure and temperature. Further tailored parameters can be made by additionally purchasing from a range of compatible isolated heart kits, which includes measurements of left ventricular developed pressure, heart rate and biopotentials.
One or Two Channel Perivascular/Tubing Flow Systems can be used to measure perivascular blood flow in a single blood vessel from a range of animal species as well as measuring tubing fluid flow.

The ADInstruments Rodent Langendorff Apparatus is relatively compact yet modular, which provides flexibility when configuring various isolated heart experimental solutions. This high-quality stainless steel and borosilicate glass apparatus includes an ADInstruments Direct Perfusion Core, which allows recirculation and reoxygenation of perfusate after priming of the apparatus, and measurements to be made close to the cannulated heart.
Used with latex balloons for measuring left ventricular pressure in the isolated rat heart preparation.
Oxygen Microelectrode features include: low oxygen consumption, fast response time (<20s) and a 3mm tip, which enables measurement of oxygen concentration in small volume samples (less than a drop).
The Physiological Pressure Transducer is a highly accurate and robust piezo-resistive transducer. The dome is easy to fill and is quickly coupled to the transducer, without any liquid between the transducer and dome diaphragms. This ensures the physiological pressure monitor device never fouls and gives the transducer a long life expectancy.
Millar Mikro-Tip® solid state catheters with pressure sensor(s) provide high-fidelity cardiovascular pressures (the heart and vascular system) at the source in small animals. These catheters are ideal for intrauterine, intracranial and arterial blood pressure monitoring, amongst other research applications.
Millar Mikro-Tip® rat PV catheters
These ultra-miniature Polyimide Nylon catheters can measure both ventricular pressure and volume simultaneously and continuously from the intact beating hearts of rats.
Low-cost, light-weight, reusable blood pressure transducers that use an extravascular sensor system to measure blood pressure. They have an operating range of -80 to +380 mmHg and are suitable for measurements of arterial and venous blood pressure in large animals. These devices may be cold sterilized.
A range of Flowsensors are available to measure fluid flow in laboratory tubing.
The Radnoti Hi-Tech Heart Chambers for Rat/Guinea Pig/Rabbit and for Mouse have been designed for researchers using either Langendorff or working heart systems.
